Instructional Design
As a contractor for IDLance, I provided Instructional Design for a course entitled “Employee Engagement: Your Voice Matters”. The course was created for front-line managers, especially those in the utility industry. The course content explored the importance of maintaining a high level of engagement among team members and provided valuable strategies to foster and sustain employee engagement.
My responsibilities included:
- Analyzing an existing Thinkific course
- Listing and describing current assets
- Outlining a new course based on the client’s ideas
- Mapping existing content to determine gaps where new material would need to be created
- Writing extensive storyboards for a main Storyline course, a secondary Storyline course, and 3 additional 7taps microlearning courses
- Making edits based on revisions from Quality Assurance and Client review cycles
- Maintaining current files in a shared Google Drive folder
- Delivering on time, based on the timeline created by the Project Manager
- Participating in client meetings
- Communicating with the Storyline developer to answer any questions

Throughout the project, I received a lot of positive feedback from my teammates and the client.
The “Head Honcho” of IDLance made comments like “I’m really so pleased with the storyboard progress you’ve made on the course!” and “you did great in today’s meeting with [the client]”
When reviewing the storyboards, the clients were clearly pleased with my creativity and learning design. They made comments like “Love this section!” and “This is an awesome activity”.
I enjoyed working as part of such a positive team!
